hectic week in UKM

The first week in UKM will be the most memorable week I ever had. Let's go deep into what happened throughout that week!!!!

My brother with his friends sent me to UKM for registration on 8th October 2022 as an official first-year student there. We went to Dewan Gemilang and many buses were used to carry students' things to their residential college. My residential college was Kolej Rahim Kajai and it's only a stone's throw away from Dewan Gemilang. I also asked my brother to accompany me because my stuff is quite heavy and a lot. It seems like I don't want to go back to my house after a stay in UKM. just kidding!!! I was a little bit disappointed because my parents cannot send me to UKM .This is because they had some work that must be finished during the registration day, but I put that sad feeling away because I don't want it to spoil my mood during that day.

I admitted that it was a little bit awkward to make new friends since we never see each other before this and some of my old friends that were also staying in UKM were not at the same residential college as mine.

But I used to overcome that feeling and became a very friendly person so that I will have new friends. 

Next, all of the first students year had an orientation week for 1 week. The orientation week schedule was very packed from the morning till night every day and of course, really tiring. But I enjoyed the activities held during that week. I also need to be punctual for every activity so we need to hurry most of the time. 

A few facilitators guide us and take good care of us during that week. They were very kind, caring, and responsible toward us. They were willing to sacrifice their time and energy to make sure the activities went well. I appreciate all of them.

We had a common cheer that all first-year students need to know and we will do that cheer when being asked by the facilitators. I like the moments when we do that cheer together in DECTAR.

Next, the activity that was held during that week was a memorable and exciting concert named 'Konsert Di Sini Lahirnya Sebuah Cinta'. There was a lot of traditional dance from different races that were performed by a first-year student. The thing that amazed me was there only take 3 days for practice but the results were absolutely good. There wore very cute traditional costumes that represents certain races. Oh, by the way, I also participate in the concert by playing traditional musical instruments called 'Gamelan'. The last time played 'gamelan' was during secondary school but I am proud of myself because I can play 'gamelan' very well. This is my Gamelan group.

Then, there was also the activity held at Stadium UKM, and Nur Dhabitah Sabri was invited to liven up the ceremony since she is a student at UKM. Unfortunately, I cannot join this activity because I had practice for the concert. My friends from the foundation take a picture together at Stadium UKM.

In a nutshell, orientation week was quite an amazing experience I get because from that week I learned how to manage my time appropriately, increase my confidence level and be kind to people around me. I will never forget my first week at UKM.
