I GOT INTO UKM
Hello again! This is the second page, this part I will share with you guys about UKM and me.
I still remember
the feelings when I found out the result of my UPU. Although at first, I was
disappointed because I didn’t get my first choice which is bachelor’s in
accounting at UPM. But, thinking that there might be some wisdom as to why I
got into UKM. There might be because it is near where I live. It took only less
than 30 minutes from my house to UKM, Bangi. I am glad I still can live close
to my family.
Thinking of I will
start my freshman year as an undergraduate student at National University of
Malaysia in the Bachelor of Administration Business with Honors has really
blown my mind. Mixed feelings plagued my mind. I am excited, nervous, and extra
happy to start my new journey.
I don’t know where
to start but let’s throwback to the first time I set foot on UKM land. Basically,
in this page, I will share my experience during my orientation week. I swear it
was the most meaningful moment I’ve ever had, and I’ll never forget it. It’s an
experience I won’t get anywhere else. So, let’s start with who sent me to UKM
on registration day. Like when I was in matric, my father, mother and second
sister sent me to my new place of study. My parents were just excited as I was,
but they are also overwhelmed that their last child had gone on to graduate
school. So crazy when I think I am finally furthering my studies this far,
still remember the day my parents sent me to preschool, and I cried so hard and
now I took a one more step forward and had to leave them again to chase my dream.
So, I got Kolej
Ungku Omar as my residence during my first year. My parents sent me to the
college, and my first impression was the college is nice and it is my favorite
color which is purple. Unfortunately, parents cannot send me to my room, so I must
bring all my stuffs alone to the third floor which my room was located. It was
so tiring as I bring quite a lot of things. After I arrived at the room, there
was a human figure which is my roommate who had arrived earlier than me as she
was from Kelantan. Her name is Isya, we both from matriculation so we are at
same age. I’m glad that we are the same age so it is easy for us to be familiar
and comfortable to talk.
Fast forward to
the next day, it was a fresh morning when I woke up in my hostel room, just
like how I feel as a fresh year 1 student in UKM. This first day of MAW, we
spent the day at DECTAR. It was my first time ever visit DECTAR, it was huge
and was filled by 4000 freshman students. It was a normal day and formal talk
because we were mostly introduced to PTPTN, interaction between the PTj also
the important information about our studies.
Second day, we were taken to visit our faculty, my faculty is Fakulti Ekonomi dan Pengurusan. We went there according to our respective colleges, so I get to know new people from the same college which is KUO also same faculty which s FEP. It is easier for us to communicate and get to know each other well. We had interacted with the deans and were introduced to learning methods, subjects, as well as other things regarding our learning while here. I had so much new information from the session.

Third day, activities
are conducted in college only and students move according to their own domain
groups. Mine was Lestari. I met amazing new people from this activity, I had so
much fun throughout the activity. We must move around the college, and we asked
to find something related to sustainable and we need to present. The happiest moment
during the activity was my group are the winner. I am glad we are easy to work
together and successfully win.
The last day, it
was very meaningful day as it was the day, we are officially a student of
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). The day we read the pledge. I am very
touched and proud to be a student here. The activities do not end during the
day, the climax takes place in the evening until late at night. Those nights,
all kinds of stage events went on with great joy and very lively. The most tiring
part was Perang DECTAR. It is the tradition event which we fight chant with
other college. Its worth the effort as my college managed to stay and was the
last college that went back.
Perang DECTAR night.
That’s all from me
, a few memorable things I could share during my first week at UKM.
